When should I use mouthwash?
It’s a common misconception that mouthwash adds greatly to our oral hygiene routine. However, as much as many of us enjoy using mouthwash, especially in the mornings, are there any benefits to this?
So as great as mouthwash is as a breath freshener, that's all we standardly recommend its use for! ( unless you have been specifically recommended for a brand, maybe for the use of antiseptic, which will work to a certain degree; however, you should never substitute this for toothbrushing and interdental cleaning!)
Should I rinse straight after brushing?
The simple answer is no. We strongly advise against using mouthwash or water rinses directly after brushing your teeth as you are likely to wash away all the fluoride which helps strengthen and protect your teeth.
We advise you to use mouthwash in between brushing your teeth or to wait at least 30 minutes after brushing your teeth.
